Burns Bair Secures Win for New York Sexual Abuse Survivor Against Insurance Giant

Burns Bair has helped to secure an early victory on behalf of victim of sexual abuse. On April 10, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York granted the motion by a former student at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, , identified as “Jonah Doe”, to file a lawsuit against Aetna Insurance Company and Federal Insurance Company, two subsidiaries of insurance giant Chubb. The lawsuit claims that Chubb is wrongfully refusing to settle the case against Poly Prep, which was insured by its subsidiaries.
